more tour forgottenness:

of course i forgot to mention adey playing keyboards with us on french pop in london. if pantsuit was to have a fourth member i think we'd want adey. i love keyboards and well, if you need keyboards, adey is the one isn't he?
except geographical practicalities makes him our special guest artist.
and we're not sure about another member since the chemistry of the 3 of us we all feel protective about. i'm just saying. if we WERE to have another member. it's adey or gummo.
his french pop part was excellent considering the chords i wrote in my letter were dead wrong. oops. he's a good listener though and it all worked out.

while i'm on the topic of adey i must mention emma his lovely lady. she is very cool i dig her.
we all had breakfast after london show and talked a lot. she was a bass player for this band a few years ago and of course i wanted to know all about her experience and why it ended blah blah bandcakes. now she is an academic and a fine one at that. she and tina hit it off talking about all things anthropological and sociological.
after london brighton beckoned. its sunny beaches and fish and chips and ice cream with little chocolate flake candy bars and walks on the pier. ahhh. someone accosted us on our way to soundcheck at the freebutt going, "hey, aren't you famous?"
"hey! aren't you in a band?"
we're like, "what? us?"
it was tom and jennie , friends of thomas and jasmin's from koln germany! he saw schwervon's show there. it was surreal. we told them to come hear pantsuit and mmm that nite and they did!
oil rig catering (antony's band) played with us and they were fantastic. despite antony saying they were freaked out and didn't know what was going on since it was their first show ever....they played a great set and their songs were clever and funny and poignant.
last show of the tour was sort of sad but we got to stay with antony and anna and didie and patrick and janine in their amazing barn house and that is always a treat. plus, take a walk the next morning and see bluebell flowers and their chickens and fish in the pond.

last day of our trip we went to london - to see track and field day at the barfly.
we saw piney gir who was quite sassy but for some reason i thought she'd have a drummer and guitar player and not electronic stuff.....she was very entertaining (from kansas too) though and gary even did a spoken word piece with her involving a porridge stick. and misty's big adventure blew my mind. they really did. they were phenomenal and are going to be superstars. confident tight funny and energetic they are one of the most unique indie acts i've seen. lucy on sax, fer christ sakes.
simon and caroline were there it was nice to see them. and jacqui and gary , who are the tony and peggy of scotland. i will bring the four of you together if it's the last thing i ever do.

since i've been home I've been:
working
practicing drums a lot
recorded a rap song with matt for martin's compilation
worked out a song with lisa herman dune(just did that tonite actually)
had a pantsuit jam session
had a schwerve show which we designated the "mellow" show by playing songs slower than usual and mostly our softer numbers.
eaten half a bottle of gooseberry jam from jacqui.
gone to a backyard bbq party
gone to a brooklyn dinner party

oh i just got tired.
next on the agenda.
the dresden show - adey said i didn't write about the schwervon/vermont/kimya dresden show.
i didn't?
it was beyond fun. it was miraculous.
playing with vermont makes me want to hop and skip and jump and run into a wall and recover and then pick up the heaviest person near me and spin them around in a pas de deux and then go out for fries with salt and vinegar.
can you blame me? they are that awesome.
one of our best schwervon sets that night - so full of energy.
i remember i was all worried about us not having cds getting shipped to us in time, blah blah but the tension worked. i was all wound up and played drums like a bullet train.
kimya was super fun that night too. at some point i remember all of us on stage weaving in and out of the equipment arms around each other doing two steps and twirls while she was singing whitney houston and parade.
dance party all night - matthias got a bloody nose from being lifted up and twirled around by kimya. well if you're gonna dance you gotta get prepared to sweat is what i'm sayin'.
we stayed in the venue (they had a room with beds) and next day met vermont for breakfast at scheune. i think we had eggs with cheese and bread and honey and jam and fruit and i'm getting hungry now even though i had pizza a little while ago.
true to form. when i'm not hungry then you can worry.
like that time i had that allergic reaction...?
okay i'm done.
all right kittens it's bedtime.
more tomorrow.
