thanks to people who came out last nite to tonic! we were in high gear. i will describe our set with this poem
******************************
a school play with rows of chairs holding our friends and a velvet curtain behind us.
oh look.
hot lights!
matt's two step dance
bass drum powerful feel it in my stomach like
thunder
light in the cracks halfway through set
can hear vocals better now might fall off drum stool because i am dancing while drumming
SWEATY! yes! matt jumps up and lands in time with floor tom.
bradford playing piano on foxhole religion adds textural goodness. swamp thing fall in the gutter green algae mess.
happy.

tonic rules. they are so friendly. their backline sounds great. that venue is a diamond in the rough!

Bradford's set last nite made me do modern dance. at first i was enjoying it visually him playing 3 instruments at once. then i was hopping around trying to get warm before playing drums, and then i thought, "actually this music would work excellently as a backdrop for a perf. art piece".
the wheels started spinning.
maybe for the next church variety show in dumbo - i will do perf. art again...
hmm.
King missile was wierd and rocking!
i liked their set so much - they played this song Farm that was totally bizarre violin and martin scorsese song had this grindcore bass line. john's delivery on "sensitive artist" was extra special - he wrapped himself up in the velvet curtain. and "miracle of childbirth" was grossly fascinating we were hanging onto every graphic detail.

this morning matt & i woke up early and we booked our tickets for the tour. yeah!
i hope british air gives us little socks.
i have about 4 pairs of those little yellow and green socks.

we just have ticket from london to france left to book and van details to arrange and we're golden.
we ordered tee shirts!

need to get for my touring kit:

several pairs of drumsticks
new sneakers
socks (warm ones)
tea (i like wierd hippie teas esp. late at nite)
bag for merch

oh so much more i need but will start small.

oh we saw a wierd cool movie last weekend. it was an old lars von trier flick called "the kingdom" about a haunted hospital. it was in dutch with subtitles.
i just read this interview with bjork where she said lars was really sadistic because he often drove his actors to tears for no reason at all.
wonder how much that influences what we see from the actors on screen?

all right kids.
have to gear up for lunch now you know.
yoga tonite.
want to find some holistic oils for my allergies. i hear eucalyptus is good. does anyone know of others?
