hello wildcats. i'm at work right now i brought all my knitting because it's so quiet. one is a scarf i've been working on for a while. the other is a NEW project my sister carol helped me get started on. 3 different yarn colors and i'm purling for god's sake.
who would've thought?
last nite did the open mike and carol and friends came. messed up piano song and hit wrong chords 4 times in a row and told audience to "HANG ON. SHIT!" for a minute but maybe that made it interesting? heh. on other hand matt was right. turning up volume on distortion pedal EXTRA loud - more loud than i think i should made sound just right.
other tidbits of holiday time:
xmas party was totally fabulous and i have enough fancy cheese and wine to last until 2006. or maybe till next week.
have listened to a lot of new music (well new for me as i tend to be more boring than i like to admit in my musical taste palette) that's been sitting on matt's shelf that i hadn't really gotten to: like jon spencer blues explosion (yes please) and more yo la tengo and tom waits.
went to MOMA and if it wasn't for carol's girlfriend's friend getting us in for free on a corp. membership card it would've been an insane idea. as it was it was super crowded day after xmas but there are some cool design things that stood out for me: particularly a metal chair that was draped in red cord swirlies. and paul klee and his whimsical paintings i loved those. i want to do an homage to paul klee somehow don't know what yet.
and kurt schwitters who i thought was just a philosopher writer according to german friend daniel but he made paintings too.
matt's coming home today from florida!
he's on a plane right now.
gummo will be out of his mind with happiness. he's lonely he stood by the door as i left this morning. he was just watching as if to say, "you're leaving again? i like that guy with sideburns who stays home."
i gave gummo turkey sausage and chicken last week. am i a bad parent not to stick to his diet? i couldn't help it i just couldn't. that fur face!
