due to popular demand, i'm back. well actually it was only adey from vermont who wrote to request an entry. he wanted to know if my wrists are better. they are much better. you know what is helping them? drumming! and a weekly yoga class. something about circulation and movement is good for the arms, me thinks.
last nite matt & i played parkside with tippy canoe from san francisco and purple organ. what a goddamn blast. me and matt whizzed through a shorter set which included 2 newish songs. this set was full rock on! matt stood on an amp again. and i sweated a lot which i enjoyed because i'm wierd. tippy canoe had swingin' sultry ukelele songs. someone said she seemed like she was out of a john waters movie. she is so stylish. she passed the tip jar around for us and balanced the jar on her head and it did not fall once. this lil' lady has flair. i liked michael the guy who played guitar with her too. turns out he knows herman dune & has played with them. what a small world.
the organ's set? holy mother of god.
he is adorable and how he accomplishes this i have no idea since often his song topics are drrrrrty.
he was hopping around in the audience in his slippers and dinosaur vest and pelts and at the end of his set he fell onto the ground. and then we all shouted and made him get back onstage for an encore.
heh.
matt's dj run was brisk. it was a weeknite and everyone had to go home after mr. organ. but tippy and i had a 5 minute dance party. hey it's better than nothing.
what else?
the calendar girls met for the first time on monday. yoko and i have that monthly song project which we haven't worked on in a long time---we are now involving angela babyskin and phoebe kreutz and it has motivated us a little more to work on it. we wrote a november song. w/ 2 keyboards, bass, & acoustic guitar. and yoko has plans for a special holiday merch item. you'll see.
toby goodshank and psuit wrote a rap for our joint show on nov. 27th.
we are called "political pantz" for our one song. there is a shark theme!
damn this has been a busy creative week.
tonite i'm practicing drums with dream bitches for their show on saturday nite.
thanksgiving is around the corner which means 2 extra days off for me.
i think i will sleep. and eat. a lot.
and maybe begin work on the floyd songs matt & i are doing in december.
maybe i'll go to the movies too.
