wednesday show report:
i felt good playing with the suit, though i was obsessed with the sound. it felt wierd on stage probably because of the lack of monitors. a few songs in i regained my sea legs, and also my skirt which i had to hitch up in order to play drums on Motor City. shout out to mander! "Keep it Cool" (our new song) was a fire in the belly. the new ones are always my favorite. me and t both wore red and black without consulting one another and shark had on black too, with yoko's red and white scarf accenting her ensemble.
mythbusters were brilliant. matt wore a green visor. peter wore a hat too. they busted a couple myths - the one that stood out for me is yes, they determined that dogs were allergic to chocolate. follow her down one of my favorite songs ever by matt sounded dreamy with keys.
DBD was raw and sweet and dissonant.
i really liked abby & dibs doing back and forth singing. on one song they sounded like colin & sabine from vermont and then i was sad because i missed them. hi guys!
dibs on drums is also something to witness. the kid's got style.
dan fishback performance art is like that witty glamorous person at the party that everyone is swooning over. he makes a whoosh appearance looking like audrey hepburn in breakfast at tiffany's and there you sit more awake and inspired than you've felt in a while. his deflowered story about George W. made me laugh right off my barstool.
clintellectual's songs are so bittersweet and hilarious it's a tricky combo to pull off but he does it with panache. lauren the drummer = amazing simple deep beats. i was jealous in that good way of wanting to practice and think outside traditional drum space. clint had special guests sam and julie and christy. matt thought that he was band poaching Kansas state flower.
no, i reminded him, there is enough love to go around.

know what i realized? i did everything on my list for last weekend. Last saturday i bought tights at beacon's closet and also boots (20 bucks holy cow what a bargain). i listed to bjm and will oldham and then last nite i bought a little plant.
it's in the bathroom. for those of you with plants in the bathroom, do you feel like you're peeing in the forest?
the bubblegum gangster has been hanging out on the bed lately. because it's cold and we haven't turned on our heat yet. why? it's too freaking expensive! you would not believe it you just wouldn't. wait yes you would if you live in nyc.
there's a halloween work party this afternoon. I hear there's beer. drunk coworkers could be interesting. todd just skated by in a hockey outfit. I also saw more than one guy in a basketball jersey.
i'm going to a halloween partee tomorrow nite.
oh what will i come up with for a costume. i don't care i'm just glad to hang out and eat and drink with friends and celebrate the return of the great pumpkin.
