Aug. 23, 2004 - 11:09 yesterday i practiced with my pantsuit ladiez and we got pedicures afterwards. we looked into a mirror while our feet were being worked on and realized that would be a good band picture---3 of us in a row getting pedicures. i got bright green polish, sharky got a color called "devil's blood" and tina got a very ladylike Pink. They made us all buy $1 flip flops cause they said we'd mess up the polish with our dirty shoes. leener had a dim sum birthday brunch earlier in the day in chinatown. I passed on all things shrimp-related because I am of delicate humours. I ate greens and dessert buns. it was a very exciting experience to be chasing carts of chicken feet and noodles with surprises. i didn't eat any chicken feet in case you are wondering. i made the tex mex soup again saturday: this is the recipe for paul goldstein. 1 onion (chopped) 6 cloves garlic 1 can undrained chopped tomatoes 1 can kidney or pinto beans 1 can black-eyed peas 1 green bell pepper 1 red bell pepper 1 chile pepper (i used about 4 different peppers though i like SPICY) jalapeno jack cheese sour cream tortilla chips 2 tbs olive oil 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. black pepper 2 tsp. cumin 1 tsp. thyme 1 tsp. oregano 2 cups water 1/4 cup barbeque sauce saute the onion and garlic and salt in olive oil for 10 minutes. add chopped up green & red peppers, all the spices, and the chile pepper. saute for another 10 minutes until pretty tender. then put all your sauteed veggies and spices in a soup pot with 2 cups water and dump the can of chopped tomatoes in. simmer for 10-15 minutes. Add both cans of beans and 1/4 c. bbq sauce. Simmer for a few more minutes. Serve it up with jalapeno cheese, tortilla chips and sour cream. YUM.
