Aug. 04, 2004 - 10:58 why are the new york city venues against me? i confirmed like 10 times that the knit factory olive juice show on aug. 11 was in the old office and it says tap bar on knit website and in the v. voice. i already called them but i guess it's too early to find out the dealio. in other news i got a massage last nite and it was so great i made another appointment with angela for next week. i've never had a swedish hour long massage before. holy shit. i highly recommend it. i feel kind of drugged today and sluggish but i think it's cause a lifetime of toxins were drained or are currently draining out of me. i slept very well too. wierd dreams though. about having to go to a wedding and i couldn't find my shoes and was in a cabin like they have at camp with loads of other people and the only shoes i found were someone's high heeled black sandals. and they didn't match my dress but i put them on anyway. today i am picking up pantsuit cds at the plant in harlem and then hanging out with tina and sharky. tina is back from tibet! i can't wait to hear the stories and see the pictures and experience her zen-ness. she said it was like being in an isolation tank for two months---i guess they didn't have access to the news. i am getting more woo woo in my old age. i want to be in some nature and throw my cell phone in the east river and do nothing for an afternoon but look at the sky and passing cloud formations. having time like that makes me want to write. speaking of writing... there is this book of minneapolis poets my mom gave me from the early 70's that i have in my bookcase and look at quite often. what happened to poets? why am i not reading more? did i peak out at 17? i was obsessed with stephen dunn and the writers in that poetry book....some unknown and some not. keith gunderson had this great poem called "the delicious gravy"-- kids complaining about the dinner their dad makes them while their mom is sick. favorite line is "THERE ARE LUMPS IN THE MASHED POTATOES, YOU CAN TASTE THEM TASTE THEM DAD!" i must leave you to eat lunch soon. favorite food of all-time is mac and cheese. homeade style. i will eat the stuff in a box though. relieving high anxiety: i recommend a massage. if you want to go to the person i went to, email me. she's awesome. though my other friend will have to practice on people soon--she's in school now. i'm gonna hook up all my musician poet pals.
