Jul. 12, 2004 - 1:43 you know that part in Adaptation where nicholas cage is at his computer saying, "hmm maybe a muffin would help me think better. yeah. maybe a muffin and some coffee". i feel like that. i think it's just the after-lunch coma, which is particularly bad today because I ate cheese for lunch with mander. brie and tomato sandwich and split pea soup at amy's. yum. I think cheese makes me sleepy. farrell said that once. mentioning farrell makes me think of tony. hi tony. i had a nice convo with you saturday. also, i got a very nice email from alun. think desc is in chicago now. i wished i had seen more of him on our little tour but we'll have september in edinburgh! i will give him another frock to wear. he's a muircat. or is it meercat? yesterday me and major met shark at the sidewalk for breakfast and then we worked on pantsuit final mixing the rest of the day. we went through everything making final tweaks. mastering is on thursday. need to listen again to make sure it's good to go. can you believe it? it's been months! totally in the home stretch. just need to figure out cd artwork and duplicating schmaa now. and tina to come home from tibet! we misssss her..... i think the cd came out well. we really played with layers of sounds and doubles of vocals and you'd be surprised at all the subtle effects and volume adjustments and time it takes to make a record. i'm so naive to the process too. matt was doing a lot of work with me on each song....i think sometimes i took him for granted cause he's a great engineer. he has more patience than i do. and follow-through. i get lots of ideas but sometimes have a hard time following them through. especially if it's in the technical realm (i.e. anything computer related). i get frustrated really quickly. but i am learning to keep at it, am learning about more patience. cheese on bread had a wildly energetic cd release show on saturday nite. lots of bouncing and light shooting from their heads. i very much enjoyed "it felt so right" and have had it in my head for two days. our schwerve set was both mellow and rockfilled and matt came up with very interesting banter about secret salamander who played later on in the nite (he played bass with them and they did an inspired version of mike rechner's wrecked car song). yoko and ann were great. they are charming in their banter and sweet songs. then they pull out the rock. ha! they had matching striped tank tops, skirts and belts--yoko's said "dream" and ann's said "bitches". lots of red white and blue for c.o.b. and dream bitches and even matt & i (he had a blue shirt and i had my patriotic dress on). i hopped onstage to do "other people's mothers" and "hey ya" with d. bitches. yes they did hey ya! i don't even know the song but it was fun. casey, the other part-time dream bitch was far away from me so we couldn't do total poser rock moves but next time. david k. came to the show. hi david k! and the other david who made a cool "schwerve-on" tee shirt with iron on letters. i think i scared other david cause he ran away soon after saying hello. aw. maybe i smelled. and dina! i'm glad she was there hanging out with us and when she left mike showed up so i got to talk with both of them. i ate a chicken sandwich that nite. and then when matt & i got home i had some shredded wheat. we got a new red wonder woman email list book and it's really snappy. i have decided i want more blonde in my hair, esp. at the roots. i want to go all the way. it's already affecting my brain cells, i might as well go for it. me & shark are jamming tonite!
