well it's about time. i've tried a couple times this past week to write in here. but you know, i think every other person who has a diaryland diary was thinking the exact same thing I was and so the system wouldn't let me in.

i just went and looked at drums with eric shaw of domestics fame. we must've hit about 10 different snare drums and listened to the varying differences in snap and boom and warm tones. and i learned also that I like maple wood drums versus birch or oak or metal. maple has crispness and also warmth. perfect for my light and heavy drum style. i want a vintage 60's kit of course but i'm going to try to find a used maple wood 3 piece (maybe 70's or early 80's) online. that's me, gearhead turner.
speaking of drums, i think this is my week for them. last nite i drummed with the dream bitches at knitting factory on four songs. those bitches rock! it was a blast playing with them. yoko and ann had on red, white and blue outfits with miniskirts and stars and stripes tee shirts and i wore a red white and blue long tutu that julie lent me. i made casey, also the part-time dream bitch like me, wear a red tutu on his head while he played guitar. see it was flag day, and they wanted to go all betsy ross on everybody.
and tomorrow i have a drum lesson.

i would die for you was a little improv-ey w/ sharkfin all serious keyboards and bass but we sang it to each other and proceeded to laugh hysterically through the entire song. up to and including the hip hop part which i'm sure Prince would've loved if he was there.
Baby I'm a star, the Prince song that matt & i did w/ sharks was more rock style but i was almost too far gone on the hambone aspect of singing those insane verses like "honey i know there ain't nothing wrong with those ears!" that i lost the other two for a moment but we all found each other and ended the song with a snap.
why does prince say, "DOCTOR!"
