hello starship enterprise. this is your captain telling you that I can indeed pick up the phone while forgetting that I am wearing the phone headset. I shouted hello into the phone and wondered why there was no answer. Oh.
Other fun things i've done have included banging my head in the same place twice on cd shelves attempting to open the window. also slamming my shoulder into the shelf by the sink which produced a lot of cursing and hopping and some meowing from gummo who thought this was some fun new game before he got his diet dinner.
my weekend was really good. busy but the kind of busy within nice spans of free time. like i cleaned which makes me feel better. and threw out old bills and bank statements. and worked on new musical things and did yoga 3 days in a freaking row and watched some movies and went shopping and took a long walk and had a couple pantsuit lite practices. i think every weekend should be 3 days.
yesterday sean and carey and their daughters keelan and aislyn came to town. they're from portland. shout out to carol! they are very sweet and laid-back and the girls (ages 9 and 11) are sort of serious and shy. probably because they don't know me. wait till they hear me sing ethel merman. last nite we had a big italian dinner that was simply amazing (i had the spinach gnocci with cream sauce and we shared 3 different desserts of fruit with various chocolate mousse and custards mmmmmmm) and then went to the top of the empire state building and walked up to times square. new york at nite is the best. it was cool and misty and the staff at empire state said there was zero visibility but we saw a lot, including the arm of the statue of liberty. and the big dark spot which was central park.
and all the pretty lights.
sharky got a car! His name is Frogton.
He's green and a suburu and very handsome and zippy. it's exciting. He has room in the trunk for equipment too-woo!
she drove me home from pantsuit lite practice. automobiles are so fancy to me. like a dog with my head out the window except it was actually raining that day so i kept my head inside. they were playing "flashback weekend" oh i forget what it's called but lots of 1995 songs on KROQ like old no doubt and i felt like we were in seattle again circa 1995, driving around in the rain with the radio on. i remember i got really sick of champagne supernova by oasis when we lived in seattle. i liked tracy bonham though.
i miss matt.
